"I've absolutely got no update" - Van Dijk on his Liverpool contract

Virgil van Dijk is one of Liverpool's three high-profile players whose deals run out in June 2025 alongside Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold - with all of them free to negotiate terms with overseas clubs now that their contracts have entered the final six months.
But whilst the other two seem destined to leave Anfield, there is a feeling that the Dutch captain will stay in the Merseyside outfit next season. That said, there’s no new update regarding a possible extension, Van Dijk revealed on Sunday after Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
“I don’t think [there will be an update soon] but I am calm about it, like I said months ago,” he told 'Sky Sports'. “We’ll see what happens in the future and at this point, I have absolutely no update."
With no fresh information to share, the defender said his focus is on the Reds' upcoming clash against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup. "It’s all about at the moment focusing, for me and the team, on Spurs. It will be a tough game again, but a good semi-final," he concluded.
