Real Madrid's coach Carlo Ancelotti was “satisfied” after the 0-1 victory over Real Sociedad, as “it was an intense match against a very good opponent”.
The Italian coach highlighted that his team was “very good”, since despite having rotated, “the team has maintained its solidity and has been very solid” in a “always difficult pitch”.
Although he also warned that the second leg still has to be played, “and to do it at the same level”, despite having put the tie on track.
Regarding the controversy over the stoppage of the match when the anti-violence-hate protocol was activated due to repeated chants of “Asencio, die”, the 'Merengues' coach affirmed that “we have acted well”. As for his half-time substitution, Ancelotti admitted that he had decided to substitute Asencio “because he was affected”, as “nobody likes a stadium telling you to d*e".
The Italian handed Endrick, scorer in the first leg of the tie, a start: “He's quick, powerful. He has a lot of accuracy in front of goal. He needs to manage the ball better, but he is young and learns quickly”.
Finally, Ancelotti stressed that Dani Ceballos' injury is due to a “muscular problem”, although we will have to wait for the tests.
