Brazilian Raphinha said on Tuesday, after scoring 2 goals against Mallorca in his team's 1-5 win, that he is living the “best moment” of his career after a match that helped his team break a streak of 3 consecutive games without a win in La Liga.
“Yes, I can say that yes, I'm at my best. I don't want to stop here. I want to do much more for this team. It's a club that I have enormous affection for. Everything I can give on the field, I will give it. We knew how important it was to win again. In the last three league matches we have lacked something to win. We were good against Mallorca. I wouldn't say we played our best game, but the most important thing, winning, we achieved it”, he told ‘Movistar LaLiga’.
He also spoke about his teammate Frenkie De Jong, who scored a goal and provided an assist in the few minutes he was on the pitch after coming on in the second half: “He deserves it very much, he is a guy who works very hard and helps us on and off the field. He is one of our captains, we are very fond of him and everyone in the dressing room is happy for him”.
Raphinha also spoke about the Mallorca goal, scored by Vedat Muriqi, and why he asked the referee to disallow it for offside: “He explained to me that, as the play was finished by someone else, it was a goal. I respect his decision,” he concluded.
