Ronald Araujo sat down for an interview with 'Sport' after recently signing a new deal with Barcelona, prolonging his stay at Catalunya until June 2031. Among the numerous questions, the Uruguayan was asked to comment on a potential Champions League final against Real Madrid.
"I would put my signature for it," said Araujo. "The most important thing is that we are there to play it. It would be a beautiful match. But we have to focus on working hard to get there. The Champions League is very competitive and, at this stage, there are no easy opponents."
The 25-year-old centre-back insisted that reaching the final was the target. "There are two games in each stage, so it depends on how you approach these matches... there are many things to consider. We believe that we can do it, and hopefully we will be there in the final," he added.
Araujo concluded the Champions League topic, as he said: "It would be extraordinary, but we have to take match by match. It's what our manager tells us. This team is capable of beating anyone, but it's football so who knows what would happen."
