Hat-trick hero Raphinha sends Barca past Bayern in Champions League

Barcelona beat Bayern Munich 4-1 on Wednesday in the Champions League, as the Catalans finally put an end to their dire record against the Bundesliga giants in the tournament.

Barca kick-started a crucial week - as they face Real Madrid on Saturday - with a crucial win over Bayern Munich. It took captain Raphinha less than a minute to give his side the lead. From there, it was a lively game all-round as the two teams were keen on getting in attack. Bayern though they had the equaliser at the 10th minute, but Kane's goal was ruled out for offiside following VAR intervention. Nevertheless, the Englishman netted just 7 minutes later to level the game. Momentum was with the Germans after the goal, but it was Barca who regained the lead as Lewandowski was given the easy talk of tapping Fermin's ball into an empty goal. Raphinha doubled the lead just before the half-time whistle to send Flick's men into a comfortable lead on the break. The Brazilian then completed the hat-trick to kill Bayern's hope at the 56th minute. Kompany sent in four emergency substitutions, with Musiala inlcuded to try and reduce the defecit, but Barcelona comfortably held the lead to claim a 4-1 victory at the Montjuic.
