Erling Haaland reached another milestone in his already successful career. The Manchester City striker played his 300th professional club game and did so with a goal for the record books too, as it was his 253rd and, combined with the 47 assists he has also provided, means he has been involved in a goal on average in each of the 300 games played.
The Leeds-born player started out with Bryne in the Norwegian second tier and only made his professional debut for Molde in April 2017. His rise has been meteoric since then, although it seems unbelievable that it is already eight years since his top-level debut.
Haaland reached 50 appearances for Molde before heading to Salzburg. After just one year and 27 appearances for the Austrian club, the striker was signed by Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund, where he became a world star. He made 89 appearances for the German side before Pep Guardiola made him Manchester City's first-choice striker in 2022. Until this 300th match, he has 134 appearances as a Cityzen.
Club by club, Haaland's scoring figures are 20 goals for Molde (0.4), 29 for Salzburg (1.07), 86 for Borussia Dortmund (0.97) and 118 for Manchester City (0.88). In terms of assists, he provided 5 for both the Norwegian team (0.1) and the Austrian team (0.17), 19 for the German team (0.21) and 18 for the English team (0.13). In terms of goals scored, the Norwegian international contributed 0.5 goals per game at Molde and averaged 1.26 at Salzburg, 1.18 at Borussia Dortmund and 1.01 at Manchester City.
During his career, Haaland has found the net in 154 different matches. He has 50 braces, which is another great figure, and he has also scored 16 hat tricks and has 3 hauls and 2 gluts to his tally. Including assists in the equation, he has scored or assisted in 178 games (59.33%) of the 300 he has already played at club level.
This season has not been the best for the burly striker, who has undoubtedly been affected by the crisis in play and results experienced by Manchester City. Despite his poor performances in comparison to previous seasons, many would trade places with the Leeds-born player, who has already contributed 28 goals and three assists for his club.
In absolute terms, Haaland's 52 goals in 2022-23 with the Cityzens remain his highest tally, with a maximum of 10 assists in a single campaign at Borussia Dortmund in 2020-21. Those two seasons, with 61 G/A in 53 games (1.15) and 51 G/A in 41 games (1.24) respectively, are the most complete of his career.
