Gigi Buffon: "Neymar deserved to win five Ballon d'Ors"

Juventus icon Gianluigi Buffon named Neymar Jr as the best player he has ever played with despite having the chance to share the pitch with Zidane, Ronaldo, Messi and more. Moreover, the goalkeeper hailed the Brazilian for being "special", insisting that he should've won "five Ballon d'Ors".

In occasion of his autobiography released on Tuesday, Gianluigi Buffon sat down for an interview with 'Corriere della Sera" to talk about his football career. The Juventus icon retired in 2023 with boyhood club Parma, 29 years after making his professional debut.
The 46-year-old shared the pitch with the countless legends of the sports throughout his 975 appearances, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zinedine Zidane to name a few, but has named Brazilian star Neymar Jr as the best player he has ever played with.
Buffon was a little hesitant to answer the question at first, stating: "I played with three generations of players, how can I choose one?" However, when asked to pinpoint one the Italian named the Al Hilal forward. "The guy was special, he should've won five Ballon d'Ors."
Buffon and Neymar played together at Paris Saint-German during the 2018/2019. Although he only spent a year with the Parisians, it was enough for the goalkeeper to choose the 32-year-old above the likes of "Zidane, Ronaldo, Messi, CR7, Iniesta...."
