Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso has explained after losing to Real Valladolid that he always "shows his face", as he is the "main responsible" for the team's bad run, but "neither controls the club's money nor is he the one who makes the signings".
In this sense, when asked if any reinforcements would arrive in the winter market, he commented that he is "just a worker" and his responsibility "is what it is", that is to say "trying to look for solutions in the game to change the negative dynamic".
In his opinion, Valencia "have been deserving of a win for a long time", in this case, during the first half, in which they "controlled more" and had "chances" to have opened the scoring.
"We knew that it was a difficult game, because of the two teams' situation in the table, but although we had the chance to score in the first half, the goal didn't come, and in the second half Valladolid reacted and scored in the closing stages," he said.
"It is clear that I am responsible for this. It's true that the team is not playing calmly at the moment, and we are still working to make sure that the chances end in goals and turn the situation around. And whether someone arrives or not doesn't depend on me, because I don't control the club's money," he added.
He is aware that his continuity is in question, and has commented that it is part of his job that his link to the club is being questioned, and that he "will respect whatever decision the club makes", with his only priority at the moment being "to try to change everything".
