Gakpo and Salah send Liverpool 11 points clear of struggling City

It was a one-sided display for the hosts in the first half. Liverpool dominated an underwhealming Ciy side, who do not seem to have put their bad period behind them. Cody Gakpo put his side in front as he was met by Salah's pin point cross from the right flank. Guardiola's men were unable to respond as captain Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold put up a solid display in the defence. Salah crushed any hope the Citizens had to get back in the game after 78 minutes as he made no mistake from the spot.
