FIGC validates new Serie A transfer window

The new FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is already causing changes in European football. The Italian Football Federation, with remarkable alacrity, accepted the Lega Serie A's proposal for an extra transfer window in June 2025, in the run-up to the start of the competition.
The Italian league's governing body submitted the request to the FIGC on Thursday afternoon and within hours gave the go-ahead. The aim of the move is to provide reinforcements ahead of the FIFA tournament, in which Juventus and Inter Milan will take part.
World football's governing body had already worked to make this possible in several countries affected by the unusual timing of the Club World Cup. As a result, the mini-transfer window will run from 1 to 10 June, meaning it will close five days before the ball is kicked in the United States.
This measure will not only be valid for those who will be in the FIFA competition, but also for all the clubs of the Italian football elite. In this way, teams will no longer have to wait until 1 July to make their moves in the transfer window.
It must be emphasised that it is not yet official, although everything suggests that the FIGC, at the Federal Council meeting next December, will approve it definitively.
