Emery was second choice for Aston Villa job

Unai Emery's time at Villarreal is now history. The Spaniard is the new Aston Villa manager. Despite his hiring after terminating his contract with the Spanish side, the Basque coach was never the first choice for the Aston Villa bench.
According to 'The Telegraph', Aston Villa had their main contenders for the managerial role and they tried to hire Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino but they rejected the offers.
Pochettino's best time as a manager came in the Premier League because his stint at Tottenham Hotspur was the most successful of his career or, at least, the most recognised by the fans. He managed to take Spurs to the Champions League final for the first time in their history.
Tuchel ended his contract with Chelsea this season. His spell at Chelsea has been his most successful because after not winning the Champions League with PSG, he was able to win it with the English team.
