The defeat has left United languishing in 15th place in the Premier League, with only four league victories since Ruben Amorim took charge in November. Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt didn’t shy away from addressing the team's struggles.
Speaking to MUTV following his side's loss to Spurs, he highlighted that the players must look within themselves and work together if they are to turn things around. "If we are doing everything on our own, we are never going to get results," he claimed.
"We need to stick together and try and put our finger on what went wrong." Despite United’s current form, the 25-year-old believes there are many areas in which the team must improve.
He acknowledged that they are not playing to the standard expected of the club, pointing out that the team is not scoring enough goals and is conceding too many. "We are not winning enough, we are not scoring chances enough, conceding too many goals,” he added. “There are a lot of things that should improve."
