Christensen affirms Barcelona commitment amidst injury recovery

Andreas Christensen has unequivocally stated his intention to remain at Barcelona, dispelling any rumours about his future at the club.
The Danish defender, who is currently recovering from a left Achilles tendon injury, expressed his commitment to the Catalan giants in a recent interview with TV 2 Sport. Christensen, 28, emphasised that his conversations with the club have been solely focused on his recovery, with Barcelona eagerly anticipating his return to the pitch.
The centre-back, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, acknowledged the challenge he faces in regaining his place in the team, given the strong performances of his teammates during his absence.
Despite this, Christensen remains determined to fight for his position once he returns to full fitness. His versatility could prove valuable for manager Hansi Flick, as Christensen revealed he played six matches in pre-season as a midfielder, suggesting this role could be an option for him in the future.
Christensen's current contract with Barcelona runs until June 2026, providing him with ample time to re-establish himself in the squad. As he continues his rehabilitation, the Danish international's focus remains on making a successful comeback and contributing to the team's success in both defensive and midfield roles.
