Barcelona and Manchester United will go head to head at the Spotify Camp Nou in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32. Before the game, Jordi Alba did an interview for 'Marca' ahead of the knock-out tie against the English side.
"United are going through a really good spell, they've got great players. At the moment, they're winning a lot of games. It could easily be a Champions League knock-out game. Both games will be tough, here and at their place, where there's a great atmosphere. We hope to be able to get through with our fans' support", the player said.
They're still thinking about going out of the Champions League: "It was a tough blow. It wasn't part of our plans when we started the season, but we've got to make the most of it now. I've already played in the Europa League with Valencia and Barcelona last season, I hope we can win it. It's an aim for the club".
"I'd prefer to play the second leg at home with our fans, but it won't change much. It'll be an exciting game with the fans there, supporting us. I hope we can get a good result at the Camp Nou", he claimed.
At the end, when questioned about two ex-La Liga competitors Casemiro and Varane, who were at Real Madrid, the Catalonian joked, saying "Casemiro, a spy from Madrid? Varane's another one!"
