The 23-year-old tore was subbed with an injury early on in Arsenal's 1-5 win over Crystal Palace last week but has now successfully undergone a medical operation on his hamstring. It was the player himself who broke the news via a post on Instagram.
"The majority see obstacles, but few see the opportunities. Recovery has begun and I’m coming back stronger! Thank you all for your messages," Bukayo Saka wrote as he shared a picture holding his thumbs up in the aftermath of the procedure.
Mikel Arteta spoke on Saka's conditions following the operation earlier on Saturday. "He had a procedure, everything went well. Unfortunately, he will be out for many many weeks", he told reporters. "I said many weeks, so I think it will be more than two months. I don't know exactly how much longer, I think it will depend on the recovery".
On how Arsenal will cope with the Englishman's absence, Arteta said he was "putting some ideas together", highlighting that the club have already dealt major injury blows with Odegaard and the recent crisis in defence. Saka has been a crucial cog in Arsenal's attack this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 10 assists in the current Premier League campaign.
