Brentford land Kayode on loan from Fiorentina

Micheal Kayode joined Brentford on Friday to become the club's first signing of the January transfer window. The Italian defender arrives on loan from Fiorentina but could become a permanent player as Brentford have the option to buy him at the end of the season.
"Defender Michael Kayode has joined Brentford on loan from Italian side Fiorentina, subject to international clearance. The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent in the summer," reads a statement from the English side.
Brentford director of football Phil Giles spoke on the signing, as he said: “Michael is a player that we think will suit Brentford and the physical nature of the Premier League very well. We have watched him for a while, and he has probably been a bit unlucky not to play more games already this season."
20-year-old Kayode earned a move to the Premier League after making 12 appearances for Fiorentina this season. He will be hoping to make a difference for the Bees, who currently find themselves 11th in the league standings after their recent win over Crystal Palace.
