Betis' Antony could play against Real Madrid

The Competition Committee of the RFEF has accepted the allegations of Betis to the red card seen against Getafe for the Brazilian Antony Dos Santos, who will be able to play next Saturday against Real Madrid at the Benito Villamarín, the club informed this Wednesday.

Betis' win against Getafe was hard fought, but it also left a heavy toll to pay: the sending off of Antony, which was going to prevent him from playing at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid. The Andalusian side appealed the decision and the Disciplinary Committee has ruled in their favour, meaning that the Brazilian will be able to play against Los Blancos.
The Andalusian team pointed to a "manifest material error in the minutes", as they believe that the player did not commit the action that is reflected in the report. And this is where the option of accepting Betis' appeal emerges because the Disciplinary Committee believes that the winger “does not stop looking at any moment at the ball that the opposing player is controlling, trying to intercept the trajectory of the ball with his foot”.
The Committee adds that Antony has "no intention of making contact with the Getafe player, but rather of making contact with the ball, even if he does not manage to do so". For this reason, the sending off of the Betis player, who will be able to play against Real Madrid, was ruled null and void.
