Real Madrid's English midfielder Jude Bellingham turned the page on the incident at El Sadar, sent off for a straight red card against Osasuna by referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero, after an action for which he apologised to his teammates and thanked the Madrid fans for their “understanding”.
After deciding to come out to speak to the media in the mixed zone at El Sadar on Saturday to make it clear that his intention was never to insult the referee, defending that he said 'f*ck off' instead of 'f*ck you' which Munuera Montero noted in his report, Bellingham made a post on Sunday on his social networks.
“Enough has been said about the misunderstanding, I just wanted to apologise again for leaving my teammates in such a difficult position and thank the fans for their support and understanding. See you at home on Wednesday,” Jude wrote on his official networks before posting a picture of himself training with his mind already set on the European clash against Manchester City.
The only good thing for the English midfielder is that he will head into the game against the Sky Blues on Wednesday with more rest than his teammates, who had to play the entire second half against Osasuna with one man.
