Barcelona squad surprised by Alemany staying

Barcelona is the epicentre of news at the moment ahead of next season. After Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff said their goodbyes, there's been a change in opinion at the Barca side.
The ex-Valencia man is now set to stay at the 'Cules', something which has taken everyone by surprise. This Wednesday, Alemany told Laporta that he'll be staying. Even though it's not official, 'Mundo Deportivo' have reported that Barca are considering as such.
Coaches and players have also been finding out via the press. Some, even, have asked for clarification despite it already going round on social media. However, everyone has expressed their delight.
The squad were particularly surprised by this decision, as well as thankful for the job he did last year. Alemany will stay at the Camp Nou and will work with Deco.
As for Aston Villa, the club aren't all that happy with this back-pedalling and being snubbed. They believe that he's betrayed the English side after it was speculated he was going to go and work with Unai Emery.
