Barcelona do not want another 'Pedri case'. The Catalan team would have agreed with the Spanish Federation that Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi will feature in the European Championship and the Olympic Games only if their participation in the first tournament is testimonial.

The summer of 2021 marked Pedri's sporting life. After playing all with Barcelona, the player from Tenerife was called up to Spain's senior squad for the European Championship and to the U23 squad for the Olympic Games.
Barcelona do not want to repeat mistakes in this 2024, in which the combo European Championship-Olympics will be repeated. And so, according to 'Sport', it has reached an agreement with the Spanish Federation.
Two players are likely to be called up by both teams. They are Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, 16 and 17 years old and regular starters in Xavi's squad.
According to the source, Barcelona have asked the RFEF not to call up their players for the two summer tournaments, as they do not want another 'Pedri case' in the squad.
However, 'Sport' indicated that they would have reached an agreement for them to be in Germany and Paris. The only possible scenario is that Luis de la Fuente would hardly count on them at the European Championship.
If either of the two have a testimonial presence with the national team, Barcelona could loan their players to play in the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
Nico Williams is in the same situation. At 21 years of age, he will be called up by Luis de la Fuente and could also be in the Olympics, but the Athletic player's rest will be prioritised.
It seems hard to imagine that Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, firstly, and Pau Cubarsi, secondly, are not going to play much of a role for Spain at the European Championship.
