It appears Xavi Hernandez is not happy with how Hector Bellerin has played, and he is not all that confident in Sergi Roberto. That is why the club are looking to sign another player of this type.
'Sport' have now reported that the Catalan side are monitoring a possible departure for Joao Cancelo from Man City. The Portuguese man has played at the Sky Blues for four seasons and interest from Real Madrid and Milan could persuade him to change things up and leave the Premier League.
Faced with a possible departure for the defender, Barca are thought to be monitoring his movements in case they decide to pounce, although they know such a move would be costly after a €70 million price tag was put on the player. The Catalan side were already close to getting him on board when he was at Valencia.
However, the footballer's inexperience was thought to be behind them aborting that idea. They also negotiated with him after he signed for Juventus, but City were stronger and carried out an exchange deal with money with ex-Madrid man Danilo. In the mean time, other names are being knocked around the Camp Nou.
Some of the favourites for the position are the Bayern Munich's Bejamin Pavard and Borussia Dortmund's Thomas Meunier. We will just have to wait until June to see if the Portuguese man decides to pack his bags.
