Barcelona have swooped for Marcus Rashford, opening talks this week over a possible loan move. The 27-year-old England international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Rashford recently told reporters he was "ready for new challenges", hinting at his desire to leave Old Trafford. Deco, Barca's sporting director, is in Saudi Arabia to study the feasibility of the deal. The Spanish club face stiff competition from Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan, as well as Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund.
However, Barcelona's interest could prove tempting for Rashford, who is said to view the Catalan club as his "dream destination". The financial hurdles remain significant, with Rashford's £350,000-a-week salary a potential stumbling block. The Manchester outfit are open to subsidising part of his salary to facilitate an exit for the England player.
"When I leave, there will be no hard feelings," Rashford declared, suggesting an amicable exit is possible. As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Rashford's next destination. The race to sign him from Barcelona promises to be one of the most intriguing sagas of this January transfer window.
