With the Champions League clash against Napoli looming on the horizon, Barcelona visit Vigo to take on Celta Vigo in La Liga.
Xavi Hernandez's men, who are 10 points behind Real Madrid and five behind Girona, need to win and hope for several defeats from their rivals in the coming games if they are to keep their already slim chances of retaining the trophy alive.
Ahead of the La Liga clash, the Spanish coach spoke about the Catalan side's situation at a press conference and warned of the difficulty of this matchday's opponents.
"Celta are one of the best teams tactically. They deserve many more points than they have. Rafa Benitez is a great coach. We have things clear. Away from home things are going better for us than at home so far", commented the Catalan.
The Spaniard also made clear the importance of Barca's next two away games [Celta and Napoli], as the team's season is at stake in both of them. "At Barca we are always obliged to be successful. If we want to be in contention for La Liga, we have to take three points at Balaidos.
"We can't fail any more. We don't depend on ourselves but we have to keep going. I still think we can finish the season well," he said, before pointing out that all five senses are focused on Vigo. "The match in Naples will not influence us. We have time after Saturday to think about the Champions League.
Afterwards, Xavi responded to questions about his future successor on the Barcelona bench and stressed that the rumour mill is not affecting the squad. "We can't control the noise that is generated and it's normal. I see the dressing room training very well, very united.
"From the first day we generated enthusiasm and I am very happy with the players. It has been difficult to compete. The people love and respect me, the other day they chanted for me. I think my time as coach will be positive beyond the legacy. Whoever comes, they have to support the team," he concluded.
