Athletic Bilbao believe they will be able to keep Nico Williams for many years to come. The footballer has been called up to the Spanish national team after unleashing his talent in La Liga. For that reason, Juventus are targeting him.
Athletic sporting director Mikel Gonzalez spoke about Williams' situation: "Obviously, he is one of our priorities. In fact, we have been working on him for a long time and he is an important player for the club. We are busy with Nico's contract. Inaki and the Williams family have a very strong sense of belonging to Athletic Bilbao. We will be able to keep Nico at the club for many years to come."
The coach talked about Unai Simon's performances for Spain: "He is a top level goalkeeper who is showing his talent at Athletic and, now, at the World Cup. Players of a high level are likely to attract the interest of big clubs. We are calm, he has a long-term contract and there is no news," Gonzalez concluded.
In addition, Nico Williams has a contract with the Spanish side until 2024. Nevertheless, Inaki Williams has signed a long-term contract with them. The international player will have to make a decision in the future.
