Arthur Melo confirms Liverpool exit

He was once considered to be a rising star at Barcelona, but it has not worked out for Arthur Melo at Liverpool. In an interview with 'Goal Italia', the Brazilian has confirmed that he will be leaving the English club at the end of the season.

After arriving at Liverpool on loan from Juventus last summer, Arthur Melo has not been able to convince Jurgen Klopp. Having played just once for the Reds, not in the Premier League, his adventure in England has been somewhat of a flop.
If Liverpool had an option to buy in his contract, it was very unlikely they were going to activate it at the end of the season. The Brazilian player has confirmed that that is the case in an interview.
"I hope I'll have the chance to say goodbye to Liverpool while playing, I want to say goodbye to my teammates, to the managerial team and to the fans, who have treated me well. I have worked a lot physically and mentally: I'm better than when I arrived in Europe. I understand the football dynamic and I want to show that. Since I've been here, Klopp has treated me really well. It's an honour for me to work with him, he's one of the best coaches in the world".
"Now that I've recovered, I'd obviously like to play more, but I understand the current situation is a bit different to when I arrived because the team had certains needs and those are different now". The Brazilian midfielder is therefore set to return to Italy, where he'll have to convince his manager once again to refind his spot.
