On Thursday, Al Ahli's interest in paying the release clause of Villareal's Álex Baena came to light, and shortly afterwards, rumours grew in England of Al Nassr's attempt to sign 27-year-old Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma. This case is particularly eye-catching because there is talk of sums that could reach over 100 million euros.
According to ‘The Athletic’, Brighton had already rejected an initial offer of 65 million euros from Al Nassr for Mitoma. With a contract until 2027, the English club believed they could get a better offer if they sold the Japanese player... and their plan seems to be working as there has been a second attempt from the Saudi team that is starting to be exorbitant.
Shortly after this rejection, journalist James Benge, from CBS Sports, expanded on the information and commented on a second, more convincing offer: beyond the 65, it could go up to 107, including add-ons for the Brighton winger.
Mitoma, 27, is now in his third season with the British team. He has five goals and three assists in 25 games. His best season was his first, in 2022-23, with 10 goals and eight assists.
