Christian Pulisic has quickly settled in Italy to become the main man at AC Milan, with former 'Rossoneri' striker Ibrahimovic noting the forward's impressive numbers so far this season. The USMNT star currently counts five goals and three assists in 11 Serie A matches and has now been labelled "Captain America" by the Swedish icon.
"Christian Pulisic is our 'Captain America' - he is doing extraordinary things," said Ibrahimovic, as he spoke to the Champions League magazine. "You can see that he is happy; being at Milan makes every player happy. This is not just my opinion; every player would tell you the same thing."
"We [AC Milan] have revitalised him and now we can see that he is really happy on the field, and for this reason, he is making him a high level. Even off the field, he is essential for us," he added, as he highlighted the club as the "optimal environment in which to focus solely on football and performing on the pitch."
At the moment, Milan sit in seventh position in Serie A, eight points off league-leaders Napoli. Meanwhile, in the Champions League, Paulo Fonseca's men have won just two of their four games so far. Although the 'Rossoneri' will have to work harder to challenge for silverware this season, their recent win against Real Madrid has boosted morale among players and fans.
Pulisic’s next two games will see him facing Jamaica with the USMNT in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Nations League on November 14th and November 18th. Following the break, a crucial clash against Juventus awaits Pulisic, as faces American compatriots Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah.
