Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi regretted the defeat against Real Madrid (0-1) in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals because, he said, they “could have achieved something better”, but they were condemned by their “poor finishing” in front of goal.
“The feeling is that we could have achieved something better. Given the way the game went, we got very close to their goal to get something more,” he explained on Teledeporte.
“Football is all about scoring. We lacked precision. Remiro was very good, but we deserved more than them. The sensations are good,” he added.
Furthermore, Zubimendi was confident ahead of the second leg on April 1st at the Santiago Bernabeu, as “a goal difference doesn't kill anyone”.
